Dan Bricklin has posted a thoughtful article on Wikipedia's "Spreadsheet" page. Bricklin quickly establishes that the page is well below par and may be tainted by someone's personal agenda. Given Bricklin's knowledge and involvement with this important topic, the critique should certainly be taken seriously, both as an indictment of the page as it currently and, more deeply, as a warning sign of trouble with the Wikipedia model. I don't want to get into a debate weighing the relative value of dead-tree versus online journalism, but anyone interested in the subject ought to read and reflect upon Bricklin's article.
